Dr. T. Patrick Fitzgerald founded Sarasota Memorial’s Comprehensive Bariatric Program in 2004 and has served as the program’s medical director. Board certified in general surgery, Dr. Fitzgerald specializes in the Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass and Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy surgical procedures. He also is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery and a fellow of the American College of Surgery.
Dr. Fitzgerald received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia and was trained in General Surgery at the Tulane School of Medicine in New Orleans. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and his master’s degree at the University of Florida.
A graduate of Sarasota High School, Dr. Fitzgerald is a long-time resident of the local community who is committed to helping his patients recover well beyond surgery to win their battle with obesity and achieve their long-term health goals.
